KEMAH, TX – April 23, 2026 – VIP Marinas and the Marina Bay Harbor Marina team officially began construction on a 63,990-square-foot dry storage expansion during a ceremonial groundbreaking held yesterday, April 22, 2026. This four-acre project is a joint venture between VIP Marinas, Marina Bay Harbor Marina, Anchor Construction, and Cameron Land and Marine Development, supported by the cities of Kemah and Clear Lake Shores.

The ceremony brought together the Mayors of Kemah and Clear Lake Shores, as well as the Anchor Construction and Marina Bay Harbor Marina project teams. City officials and partners took up ceremonial shovels and donned hard hats to mark the start of the landmark project.

Marina Bay Harbor dry storage barn expansion project ground breaking

“With the completion of our marina expansion, we will proudly offer the nicest coastal marina on the Gulf Coast, right here in our vibrant Clear Lake area community,” said Hunter Cameron, Marina Bay Harbor Marina Operation Partner and President of Cameron Land and Marina. “This new marina and ship store will not only enhance the beauty of our neighborhood but will also bring a surge of commerce, create jobs, attract tourism, and spread joy throughout the area.”

Scheduled to open in January 2027, the facility will introduce 288 new slips, nearly doubling the footprint of the existing storage facility. The new infrastructure will accommodate vessels over 50 feet in length, a capability currently unmatched among Galveston-area marinas. Additionally, a new 5,000-square-foot ship store is slated to open in May 2027 to provide expanded amenities.

Project leaders envision this expansion as a significant economic catalyst for the region, with the goal of attracting hundreds of boaters to the local area and driving destination spending throughout Kemah and Clear Lake Shores. Marina Bay Harbor remains dedicated to providing first-in-class boat storage and professional services as a premier maritime hub on the Texas Gulf Coast.
